About two months ago I was flipping through a Pottery Barn catalog and found this little table that I liked. I thought it would be fun to see if I could build something that looked similar. I happened to have some Brazilian cherry stock left over from a house my dad had built. The only problem was that most of the wood was flooring drop offs and the crates that the flooring was shipped in. This did present it’s set of challenges throughout the project.
The construction of the table is mostly dowel rods. However in some areas I also used pocket screws. The Kreg Jig Mini is what I used to drill the pockets for the screws. It’s a great little tool to have around the shop. For the drawer, I decided to use dovetails which was a first for me. I happened to have a dovetail jig laying around the shop which worked perfect with the router and a dovetail bit to cut the half blind dovetails. Over all it was a fairly simple project and I had a lot of fun building it. Here are some photos of the project during the building process.

After hours of sanding and filling holes I was ready to start finishing it. A coat of Red Mahogany Minwax stain and four coats of satin polyurethane did the trick. Below is the finished product.
