New Site Design – v5

As you can tell, I’ve done a redesign on my site. I decided to go with a more classy look as opposed to the last design which was a bit more modern. I got a good bit of inspiration for the new design from Tim Van Damm’s redesign of MaxVoltar.com. So thanks to him for all the great work he does. The new design is very minimalistic. My hopes for this design was for the content to take precedence over the design itself.

Now, a bit about the site. It’s still a work in progress. There are many things that don’t work yet or are broken. I decided to switch back to Tumblr from WordPress. Wordpress was just a bit overkill for what I want for my site. I also had problems with security and my site getting hacked. Don’t get me wrong, I still love WordPress but in this case, I don’t think it is the right solution for my site. One big problem with moving to Tumblr from WordPress is that Tumblr does not have any type of importer for WordPress posts. That being the case, I’m having to go back and manually re-post all the posts from my old WordPress site. I still have not finished that.

Another thing that is missing from the site is that it’s not responsive yet. I just haven’t had the time to get around to it yet. Hopefully, I will get that up soon. For more technical info about the site itself, go check out the colophon.

P.S. I added a new page to the site… Design. It’s a portfolio of some of the design work I’ve done over the years.
